The Rev’d. Father Jacob C. Fles+
Father Jacob+ accepted the call to serve Christ Church, beginning Advent 1, 1994. Moving from Texas, the good people of Gardiner, The Kennebec Valley and the Maine coast have through the years opened their hearts and homes. Now Jack, Becky, and their children Keegan (17), Broghann (13) and Jacob (4) call this place home.
Prior to 1994, Father Jacob served as chaplain and family priest at St. Alban’s Parish and Day School, Arlington, Texas (1992-1994), Ordained Youth Family and Youth Mission in Grace Church, Colorado Springs (1998-1992), Lay Youth Director St. John’s Cathedral, Denver (1985-1989) and as a Club Director at Youth for Christ, Denver (1977-1981).
Academic studies include: Princeton Seminary, Princeton, N.J. ( sabbatical, 2000), The Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest Austin, Texas (Master's Certificate in Anglican Studies, 1989-1990), Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, South Hamilton, MA, (Master's of Divinity coursework, 1981-1984), American Institute of Holy Land Studies, Jerusalem, Israel, (Junior Year Abroad, 1976), Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Oklahoma (BA Biblical Studies, Spanish, Cum Laude 1972-1977).
Father Jacob+ completed a four month sabbatical, 2005, completing a thesis, "American Cultural Change in the Past 100 Years, And What to do to prevent the death of Christ Church in the Next 40 Years".

Mr. Matthew Whitt
Matt graduated May, 2004, with a Bachelors in Youth Ministry and a minor in Theology from Eastern University. He came to Maine after a four-year internship at Wayne Presbyterian Church in youth work, three years of summer camp ministry as well as a handful of other ministry opportunities found in college, including prison ministry and participation in the student chaplain program. Matt loves hanging out with youth and loves to worship God. You are welcome to stop into the office for more information, to talk, or just to hang out.

A life long resident of Maine, Ty is head of custodial services at Gardiner Regional High School, and works part time at Christ Church. Ty’s is a highly appreciated as an excellent staff member.
